It's unusual for an act to use a saxophone, a rapper, and tablas in the same track -- and even more unusual for them to make it cohesive -- but this band actually manages to do it. With influences of hip-hop, early-'90's smooth jazz, King Sunny Ade, and traditional Middle Eastern style, the recording floats cheerfully yet purposefully along and draws the listener with it. Sonya Jason's signature alto saxophone solos are featured on this varied and highly musical work.
