happy new year!

Hello friend,

Yep! You read that right. Not a typo. Happy New Year to You!

Ancient and modern indigenous cultures around the world celebrate(d) the new year during the spring season. The week-long festivities customarily begin just after the Spring Equinox and end around April 1st. This time of year is sacred as it marks the hope and optimism of new beginnings as reflected in nature. The planetary cycle during the Spring Equinox marks the birth of new life – trees and flowers regenerate and new seeds are planted in fields ready for the next harvest.

So, how did the the nature-based tradition of the new year turn into April Fools Day? And why are we celebrating New Year’s Eve in the dead of winter? Does that even make sense? How does our current calendar system shift our perspective and our consciousness and impact our relationship to the earth?

As we align ourselves with the natural cycles, we become conscious co-creators with the cosmos. During the new moon each month is the optimal time to seed the intentions that we wish to manifest in the coming weeks. And this influence is even more powerful right now during this time of new beginnings just after Spring Equinox, nature’s New Year. This is a perfect time to look within and create a new vision for our life as we connect with Spirit.

If you have not yet registered, I invite you to join our sacred circle for the New Moon Ceremony ~ Native Flute Meditation and Drum Journey on ZOOM this Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Gather in virtual sacred circle at dusk, when the veils between worlds are thinnest, to embrace the new moon with reflection, renewal and seeding new intentions.

Let go of everyday concerns and rest in peaceful meditation to the soothing sounds of Native American Flute music played live.

Journey with the drum to the unseen realms to connect with compassionate guardian spirits for guidance and healing through direct revelation.

To protect our sacred space, only those who have signed up will be admitted.

Save the Date! On Easter Eve, we will explore the ancient origins of those symbolic bunnies and colored eggs during the Full Moon Ceremony ~ Native Flute Meditation and Drum Journey coming up on Saturday, April 16, 2022 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. We will meet in-person once again at Half Moon Bay Odd Fellows Hall. Get your tickets now!
The longer days and fresh energy of renewal during this time of year is so invigorating. Let's reclaim our sacred connection to the seasons.

Hugs and blessings,

Sonya
