nurturing our best self

Hello dear friend,

Last weekend, I caught a cold. I cannot remember the last time that I got sick…it has been years! Nevertheless, after standing outside in the chilly wind for 6 hours while having a great time performing a jazz saxophone concert, I ended up with a head cold.

When life unexpectedly slows me down, I try to remember to ask myself two empowering questions. 1) What can I be grateful for in this situation? Well, given how isolated I have been during the past two years of this pandemic, I am grateful for the chance to strengthen my immune system by giving it a little work out. And 2) What higher wisdom can be gained from this experience? I’m talking about something more significant than “dress warmer on cold days.”

Together during this new moon, we will explore self-care as a spiritual practice and seed intentions for nurturing our best self inside and out. As we head toward the activities of Spring, how do we balance our enthusiasm for getting out there in the world with taking care of our well-being physically, emotionally and spiritually?

How we are able to respond to the twists and turns of life is deeply affected by how we treat ourselves. Self-care is not simply an indulgence. Self-care is one of the core practices for anyone on the path to healing, personal growth and spiritual evolution.

I invite you to join our sacred circle for the New Moon Ceremony ~ Native Flute Meditation and Drum Journey on ZOOM this Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Donations accepted in the spirit of sacred reciprocity. Your gift will be shared with the Lakota People’s Law Project to assist indigenous communities.

Gather in virtual sacred circle at dusk, when the veils between worlds are thinnest, to embrace the new moon with reflection, renewal and seeding new intentions.

Let go of everyday concerns and rest in peaceful meditation to the soothing sounds of Native American Flute music played live.

Journey with the drum to the unseen realms to connect with compassionate guardian spirits for guidance and healing through direct revelation.

To protect our sacred space, only those who have signed up will be admitted.

Save the Date! Our Spring Equinox Ceremony ~ Native Flute Meditation and Drum Journey is coming up on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. We plan to meet in-person at Half Moon Bay Odd Fellows Hall. This one will sell out. Tickets available soon!
Getting together with you twice a month, my sweet spiritual friend, is one of my most delightful self-care practices. I wouldn't miss it!

Hugs and blessings,

Sonya
