"The saxophone is an
imperfect instrument, especially the tenor and soprano, as far as intonation
goes. The challenge is to sing on an imperfect instrument that is outside of
your body."
-- Stan Getz,
saxophonist
I have always considered the
saxophone to be my voice, as challenging as that may be. Nonetheless, I am
often asked if I sing as well. My answer -- Kinda hard to sing when
you have a saxophone in your mouth!
Recently a music lover caught me in
action on his camcorder, "singing" on soprano sax and funkin' out on alto sax
with my buddy vocalist Pamela Rose and the boys in the band. Check
out these HOT VIDEO CLIPS from our live performance at my
favorite hometown gig, the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company:
As I look over the memorabilia
of my music career to date, I realize that so much of my career has been
documented by YOU, the listener! I thank you for appreciating my
music enough to photograph and record your experience and then share it with
me. (Of course, asking permission of the performers first is
always a good idea!)
Live music can really make your
day...and mine. Mark your calendar with these upcoming opportunities to
add to your musical memories!

If you wholeheartedly agree, then you probably don't ever want
to hear from me again. I'll not torture you further with these imperfect,
out-of-tune music newsletters if you cover your ears, grimace and Reply
loudly, "GIMME A BREAK, WOULD
YA?!"
