Hello Music Lover!

Last month we celebrated together the 20th Anniversary of my career as a full-time professional saxophonist.  Your thoughtful responses were so supportive!  That meant the world to me, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

What my life is for is to inspire people, to Awaken the Passion in People.  Imagine being at work and having people applaud you every 5 minutes for the exciting job you are doing! Or share with you how much your efforts move them.  Lucky me!  Being a musical artist gives me such an opportunity for fulfillment on so many levels.

During a recent graduation ceremony at my alma mater, Berklee College of Music in Boston, the amazing vocalist Bobby McFerrin ("Don't Worry, Be Happy!") shared a message that resonates deeply with my own feelings about my life as a musician:

"What's important is a deep and profound spiritual reality, the joy of simply making and sharing music with others, and a sense of gratitude for each note that you play."

This quote and more about my own influences can be found in the Biography on my website, along with some embarrassing (but amusing!) photos from the different phases of my music career:

~ Jazz camp, age 15, with skinny arms, glasses and a little blue pantsuit
~ College concert in northern CA wearing a dashiki and afro hairdo
~ Performing as Wonder Woman with a Mexican band
~ Posing in a "Cabaret" costume with a drag queen
